Young Democrats of America (YDA), was founded in 1932 as informal arm of the Democratic Party of the United States, and hass become an independent 527 group. The group consists of members of those Democrats under the age of 36 (although two, allow members under the age of 40), and the political activity tends to concentrate on raising the electoral activity of young Democrats and involving them in issues that reflect the demographic group. It may be less focused on political activity by the majority of the young Democrats.

Young Republicans is an organization for members of the U.S. Republican Party between the ages of 18 and 40. It has both a national organization as well as chapters located in every state.

The Young Republicans clubs are both social and political in nature. Many of the young Republicans meet at various social and networking events for members and eventually become close friends. In addition, young Republicans Clubs help Republican political candidates and their political causes. There are many examples of young Republicans that are running and win elective offices.
